Simon tops Moya in Bucharest final

09/14/2008 - Bucharest, Romania (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Second-seeded Gilles Simon of France topped Spaniard Carlos Moya to win the $525,000 BCR Open Romania for the second straight year Sunday.

Simon dispatched of Moya in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to win his fifth career ATP title and his first this year.

Simon, who pocketed $84,000 for his win, topped Bucharest's own Victor Hanescu in last year's final.

The sixth-seeded Moya, the runner-up in Bucharest in 1996, had downed top- seeded Richard Gasquet to advance to the final here for the first time in 12 years. The 32-year-old Moya has 20 career titles, but hasn't won since Umag in 2007.
